About Jaz Nannar

Jaz Nannar has 30 years’ experience within the charity sector. She has led a strategic and creative agency supporting not-for-profits and specialises in helping organisations get to the heart of the matter.

She’s skilled at reviewing vast amounts of information, distilling what really matters, in depth one-to-one interviews that probe what lies beneath the data and the written reports. She’s an expert in applying what she learns to real-world, manageable change in organisations and how they communicate.

She has significant fundraising and communications experience across many causes and charities. She was a long-standing member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s EDI committee and expert panel.

She became an independent consultant in 2019. And she is a co-opted fundraising trustee of Rethink Mental Illness.

Client Feedback

Hear what our clients say about our fundraising consultancy services.

Jaz was a key voice on our independent Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Panel (from 2017 to 2019) and one of the few who then moved on to be an important and integral part of our EDI Committee (2019 and ongoing).

As the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, we have benefited hugely from her strategic approach, her vast experience of the causes and charities in the sector, and her ability to take a specific piece of insight and move the discussion to the right strategic level, before then helping us to identify and define the right operational approach. Her challenge and support have been, and continue to be, invaluable.

Jaz has the ability to help us look at things differently, as well as being unafraid to ensure we discuss and explore sensitive and genuinely difficult issues in the right way. I’m particularly grateful for Jaz’s personal support as a Panel and Committee member, reaching out when things have been tough.

Working with Jaz is brilliant. She brings that fresh external perspective you need to shift your thinking and asks the right questions to cut away the noise and get to the nub of what you need to say.

I have worked with Jaz on two projects so far; a product proposition/case to support and a fundraising campaign proposition. In both cases she led internal workshops to uncover the important insights, developed propositions to research, before landing that impactful statement and key messages that internal or external creatives can build upon. Her experience of running an agency means you don’t just end up with a set of words. Working with Jaz is good fun. She is also willing to really challenge and help you avoid potholes. I would highly recommend Jaz and her work.

Following a restructure that integrated fundraising, comms and digital, Versus Arthritis needed to develop an income and engagement strategy fit for the charity’s future. The strategy needed to allow teams to integrate and increase income while growing our profile and audience base.

Jaz Nannar had already worked with the charity’s fundraising teams to diagnose the key barriers to fundraising success and agreed to work with me and the integrated team on developing a new strategy.

She quickly developed a good rapport with the team, creating a safe space for ambitious thinking and good challenge with her warmth, humour and open style. Jaz was able to lift the team’s thinking into a strategic space quickly to get the very best contributions from them and ensure we were tackling the key questions. Jaz engaged brilliantly with other stakeholders around the charity to ensure their input was considered.

The project was delivered ahead of time. I would jump at the chance to work with Jaz again and recommend her highly to anyone looking for a refreshing, honest and highly intelligent approach to a complex piece of work.

We recently worked with Jaz on our new fundraising strategy. Working closely with our fundraising leadership team she expertly guided us through a thoughtful and effective process to help deliver an evidence based growth strategy. Jaz is a joy to work with. She very quickly gets under the skin of an organisation and gets right to the knotty problems which focuses the discussion on all the right things. Her collaborative style means she successfully engages across all levels of the organisation. I would thoroughly recommend working with her.
